Introduce Chef Treal
Dontre’al Haigler served as a Product Development and Innovation Chef at Denny’s, where for nearly a decade he played a key role in shaping the brand’s menu and pushing the boundaries of flavor at America’s diner. A graduate of The Art Institute of Charleston with a degree in Culinary and Management, Dontre’al brought both creative vision and operational expertise to the table—blending his passion for homestyle comfort food with bold, globally inspired ideas.
His culinary foundation was built during his time at South Carolina State University’s food service department, where he mastered a wide range of cuisines and honed the adaptability that would later fuel his innovation at Denny’s. At Denny’s, he thrived on the challenge of turning big ideas into craveable menu items, directly contributing to the launch of guest favorites like the Co-Reactor Pancakes, Double Chocolate Pancake Puppies, Shortberry Dream Cakes, Strawberry Stuffed French Toast, Oreo Chocolate Brownie, Homemade Apple Crisp, and the indulgent Triple Juicy Burger.
Beyond the kitchen, Dontre’al expanded his impact by founding The BOH Crew, a culinary community dedicated to celebrating the heart of the food industry—those working “Back of House.” Through this platform, he has been able to connect, inspire, and uplift chefs and food professionals, building a space where innovation, collaboration, and creativity thrive.
